1. Who we are

RelayX ("RelayX," "we," "us," "our") coordinates parcel pickup and delivery between Ibadan and Lagos, using our own riders for pickup and last-mile delivery and a trusted transport company for the inter-city leg. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our service — whether you're the person sending a parcel, the person receiving it, or someone who submits a request on our website or through WhatsApp — and what we do with it.

RelayX is operated by RelayX Logistics Limited, 90, Ajuwon Road, Imole Ayo Bus Stop, Akute, Ogun State, Nigeria. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at support@relayx.ng or +234 802 435 4171.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and a small amount of information we generate in the course of coordinating your delivery.

From the sender (or whoever submits a shipment request):

  • Name and phone number
  • Pickup city and a specific pickup location (e.g. a garage, park, or landmark) so our rider knows where to collect the parcel
  • A photo of the parcel (optional, to help us confirm what's being sent)
  • What the parcel is and its approximate size/weight

About the receiver:

  • Name and phone number
  • Delivery address (building number, street, landmark, local government area, city, state, postal code where available)

If a shipment is being sent on behalf of someone else — for example, a vendor shipping to their own customer — we collect the same receiver details so we can contact the right person directly about pickup and delivery.

Generated in the course of delivery:

  • A tracking ID and delivery status history (e.g. picked up, in transit, delivered)
  • A photo taken by our rider at pickup and, where applicable, at delivery, to confirm the parcel's condition
  • One-time confirmation codes (OTPs) used to verify pickup and delivery actually happened
  • GPS coordinates recorded at the moment a rider confirms pickup or delivery, used only to confirm the delivery actually happened at the stated location

Payment information:

  • We do not collect or store your card or bank details. Payment is processed by Flutterwave, a licensed payment service provider, through a secure payment page. We only receive confirmation that payment was made and a reference number.

If you apply to be a rider or work with us:

  • Name, phone number, and (where relevant) email
  • Vehicle type, coverage area, and address
  • Bank account details, used solely to pay you for completed deliveries

We do not use cookies or third-party tracking/analytics scripts on our public website today. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Coordinate the pickup and delivery of your parcel, including contacting you (or the receiver, if you told us to) about pickup arrangements, delays, or delivery confirmation
  • Send you delivery updates by SMS or WhatsApp
  • Process payment for the delivery service through Flutterwave
  • Pay riders for completed deliveries
  • Respond to questions, complaints, or support requests
  • Keep basic records for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes
  • Improve our service (for example, understanding which routes or times get the most requests)

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not use your phone number to send you marketing messages unless you've separately agreed to that.

4. Who we share your information with

We share information only where it's necessary to actually deliver your parcel or run our business:

  • Our riders, who need the pickup/delivery address and contact details to do their job
  • The transport company handling the inter-city leg, who receives what's necessary to move the parcel (generally not your full contact details beyond what's on the waybill)
  • Flutterwave, our payment processor, who receives what's needed to process your payment (we do not see or store your card/bank details ourselves)
  • Termii, our SMS/messaging provider, who sends the text messages and delivery updates on our behalf
  • Regulators or law enforcement, only where we're legally required to

We do not share your information with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep shipment records (sender/receiver details, delivery history, parcel photos) for up to 6 years after the delivery is completed, in line with standard financial and tax recordkeeping practice in Nigeria, after which we delete or anonymize it.

6. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal obligation to keep certain records (e.g. for tax purposes)
  • Withdraw consent for anything we're doing based on your consent (for example, marketing messages, if you'd previously agreed to them)
  • Complain to us, or to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), if you think we've mishandled your information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@relayx.ng.

7. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including restricting access to shipment and payment data to staff who need it to do their jobs. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take this seriously and will notify affected users and, where required, the NDPC, if we become aware of a data breach that puts your information at risk.

8. Children's privacy

RelayX's service is intended for use by adults arranging their own deliveries. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our service changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know (for example, via WhatsApp or on our website).
